An affective encounter with an arch
March-April 2021 | Iulia Radu & Vicc Repasi
Circa 106 invites you to spend some time with Iulia Radu’s documentation of her residency in Circa 106: an interactive webpage put together with the help of Pablo Somonte Ruano.
Iulia’s work hinges on "reality" or more precisely on the immediate surroundings, in this case the interior architecture of Circa 106. During her stay in Circa, she got inspired by the arch on the right side of the space.
The work is not telling a story itself, but by looking into and speculating around the arch, it yearns for a compelling story which has yet to be told. Through keywords and graphic insertions into the arch itself, Iulia encourages and provokes the visitor to imagine and further make their own story, opening up the arch again and again.
This work documents the outcome of Iulia Radu’s one-month Residency in Circa 106, which happened during March and April 2021, in collaboration with Vicc Repasi.

February-March 2021 | Julija Paškevičiūtė & Qianxun Chen
As opposed to the October and November residency this time the Artists tend to not only share with the public the multivalence of their collaboration through the website, but also re-visit the space itself which has been accommodating their practice during this time and set up new their collaborative work and welcome the public to this static room yet animated space.
Memory
November 2020 | Nevena Savić & Liudmila Savelyeva
In Nevena's practice we found interesting the exercise of mind mapping as a way to communicate her research and marking the ramifications of certain ideologies. Likewise, Liudmila's proposal also holds an extensive focus on research, performed through the collection of objects in the public space and further narratives.
October 2020 Residency
Manana Kobakhidze & Luisa Recker
In Manana Kobakhidze's work, there is a certain engagement with the residential environment and the agency which one can acquire through reconfiguration or assigning new architectural fragments to geometries of communal spaces and with Luisa Recker's practice, the game-like approach develops itself into a relationship with the body and translating the shapes which have been drawn from historical material into weaved objects.
